That M1A turned out to be a dud; I took it out to fire it, and it would not even cycle because the gas cylinder was so far out of alignment (someone had clearly used it). Fortunately, the shop gave me a refund and I ended up doing a special order for an M1A directly from the Springfield factory (they tried to blame the whole thing on their distributor screwing up somehow). I ended up choosing a standard model with the walnut stock, and this one works flawlessly (and clearly was not used).
Those cheap Korean M14 magazines from ammoman.com work really well. Not bad for $15.00 per magazine. I did get some accessories as well with that discount coupon (gas cylinder tool, cleaning kit, match sling). Too bad the cleaning kit/combo tool is backordered.

I am still procrastinating with the pics, as I need to get ready for an interview for a job promotion next week (I like how they want reference letters when I already gave the contact info of previous supervisors on the application. Are they too lazy to use a telephone? And they told me this at the last minute, practically.). I don't know if it I will get it or not, but I may as well try, as could put me at $22/hr. by this fall, which is not bad (and means I can get more stuff).
It also turns out that the range never banned Wolf ammo; I was fed misinformation by some new guy that did not know what the hell he was talking about (I asked after repeatedly seeing steel casings all over the place after this supposed ban occurred).
