You deserve it, sweetie. That was FAB!

I had never heard of the Christian Ebionites. I'm going to be doing some googling when I have time tomorrow.

Much of it was a run-on sentence, but the information I suppose was there! It was quite early when I wrote it. Ty though honey. :P

If you would like me to link up info as to them, I am more than happy to. If you would prefer to look it up yourself, all good as well. The Ebionites are too known as the Essene and spiritually akin to Nazarene Israelites. A little more into that, people often confuse (or perhaps assume) is a link, is that Nazarene means from Nazareth hence linking in the whole bible jesus saga together. Nothing could be further from the reality, but yet again, the bible rarely shows even a glimpse of reality!

Anyhoo.

TTFN..xx

By whose word is Paul a vessel?

His own? If that's all it takes, I too am a vessel of God's word and I say he says he's fine with gay marriage and abortion.

"He didn't hang out with Jesus. You shouldn't talk about such an important book if you have not read it."

Is it because tradition holds that the early church recognized Paul's writing as God's opinion and everyone else just took them at their word? (hint: yes)

If you ask me, "we always done it that way" is a pretty piss poor reason to do anything, especially basing your moral code upon.

Off topic, I always thought the parable of the sower was ridiculous.

OF COURSE the seeds you throw onto the rocks and thorns aren't going to grow. That's why we don't throw seeds on rocks and thornbushes.

Maybe if the Sower (God) stopped throwing (creating) seeds (people) into rocks (atheism) and thorn bushes (Islam), he'd have more fully grown stuff. (Christians)

Of course, this assumes that the plants are something you'd actually want to harvest. It's probably just more thorn bushes, but they're a different color.

Some of us were once Christians. Some of us prayed every day for years, yearning to feel God's presence. Some of us devoured the sacred texts as if they were ambrosia. Some of us begged, pleaded with God to send us a sign--- any sign--- that he was there, that he cared for us. Some of us realized that according to the Old Testament, he did this sort of thing all of the time. Some of us walked the earth, searching for answers, imploring God to reveal himself to us in even the most rudimentary fashion. Finding that our prayers fell upon unhearing ears, we became atheists. Some of us have never felt more liberated, in that we were now free to learn about the world around us without filtering it through the lens of an archaic mindset.
